Giosetta Fioroni (24 December 1932), born in Rome, where she still lives, is a daughter of art, as her father Mario was a sculptor and her mother Francesca was a painter and puppeteer.
She attended the Academy of Fine Arts, where she met Toti Scialoja, a key figure in his artistic future.
In the 1960's she takes part to the artistic movement "The School of Piazza del Popolo", the only female figure with Mario Schifano, Franco Angeli, Tano Festa, Francesco Lo Savio, Fabio Mauri and Giuseppe Uncini.
At that time she created a series of canvases and papers called "Gli Argenti", ideograms of faces, figures and landscapes created with enamels and industrial aluminum paint.
She will meet the writer Goffredo Parise in 1963, remaining his companion until 1986, when the writer died at the age of only fifty-seven.
In 1964 she took part in the Venice Biennale; this edition will determine the definitive success of American Pop Art in Italy and in Europe.
In 1970 she took part in the "Vitality of the Negative" exhibition, organized by Achille Bonito Oliva at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome.
In the 80's she realizes works on paper, books and graphics.
In the same period she produced the pictorial cycle "Il vero", a series of pastels and oils dedicated to Tiepolo.
In 1993 she participated in the Venice Biennale with a solo exhibition, invited by Achille Bonito Oliva.
In 1995, at the same Biennale, she will return for the "Percorsi del gusto" exhibition.
In 2013, the Drawing Center in New York dedicated the anthology "Giosetta Fioroni" to her.
In 2015 one of his paintings in the "Gli Argenti" series, entitled "Gli Occhiali", will be acquired by the Center Pompidou in Paris.
