Unique artwork by Tancredi Fornasetti (1983), created in his studio in Rome.
In this painting we note his clear geometric and abstract matrix, a distinctive trait of this artist.
Tancredi Fornasetti has elaborated over the years a very personal alphabet made up of geometric elements and elementary signs that climb and intersect in the architectural reconstruction of an imaginary and alienating reality, to produce landscapes that are personal worlds, certainly inspired by contemporary architecture, but which the past (from the Florentine art of the fourteenth century, Lorenzetti, Giotto, Masaccio), projected towards something more modern and evolved.
The reference to contemporary architecture, now rationalist in the 1930s, now metaphysics with some de Chirico inspiration, combined with the colors, with a clear pop matrix, illuminates these impossible architectures in an attempt to save man from the oppressive weight of urban gray.
We can safely say that Tancredi moves in that great ocean which is Abstraction which arises when there is no longer any reference to reality in the paintings.
His painting moves with a contagious enthusiasm, reinforces the stylistic protocols of the genre and affirms its expressive form.
Furthermore it can be said that Tancredi in his works draws inspiration from medieval painters referring to the modern ones inspired in turn by the expressions of Adami and Perilli.
Brilliant artist, attentive in the study of his works, always in continuous evolution, he lives in Rome, his city, where, as he declared, he has the most lively stimuli to create his works, but he travels continuously all over the world, in particular to London and New York.
