Gino De Dominicis (1947–1998) is a controversial protagonist of post-war Italian art.
He used various techniques and defined himself as a painter, sculptor, philosopher and architect.
His work tends to become independent of both fashions and neo-avant-garde groups.
He cannot be classified in a precise artistic current: neither in Arte Povera, nor in the Transavantgarde, nor in Conceptual Art, which he rejected.
The entire work of Gino De Dominicis revolves around an axis represented by the idea of death.
On the other hand, his work is not incompatible with a fundamental tonality, great theme or recurring motif, being conceived and experienced as a constant rotation around its own anthology.
Death is experienced in its physicality and in its phenomenal occurrence.
Through the images of bodies (deformed, aging, mummified, ghostly, belonging to unknown evolutionary chains) life is always represented from the point of view of the time of death.
The images are the announcement and the preparation.
Over everything hovers the ghost of entropy experienced as the negative of the world.
The artwork includes the official archival certificates and our certificate of authenticity, complete with photo, description, year and dimensions.
