Very rare book, first edition of the "New life Dante of Alighieri with XV songs of the same and the life of it Dante written by Giovanni Boccaccio".
Book composed of two parts in a single volume in eighth small.
The first part is composed from "La Vita Nuova" occupying the first 70 pages, while the Songs range from page 71 to 116. The second part of the work instead shows a separate title page entitled "Origin, life, studies, and customs of the very clear Dante Alighieri, Made, and compiled by M. Giovanni Boccaccio from Certaldo ". Editio princeps.
This second distinct part with another number includes 42 chapters in prose and 31 lyric (twenty-five sonnets, one ballad and five songs).
Coeval binding in parchment, with title to the back and gazes replaced in the 17th century.
Edition in excellent condition with some blooms or sporadic moist gore marginal due to age; presence of a tiny vertical woodworm hole in the last 50 cards (about 1.5 mm).
Binding in good condition, only some pages slightly to shrink.
Very rare edition, very hard to find another one.
Certificate of authenticity is included.
